Alastair qualified as a Solicitor in 2018 and worked as part of Ben Hoare Bell Solicitors' Crime Team before joining DJMS following the merger in September 2023.
Based in the Gateshead office, he has been Duty Solicitor qualified since 2019 and deals with all matters in the Magistrates Court from first hearing to sentence. He also attends Police Stations across the North East regularly, dealing with both duty rota cases and his own client work.
Alastair is a defence representative on the Northumbria Criminal Justice Board, where he provides input into reforming the criminal justice system for dealing with young people at the Police Station and in Court and ensures the fair, just, and effective progression of all cases through the system.
