Paul Kennedy

Paul is a Director of DJMS and a Criminal Defence Solicitor.

Paul has specialised in Criminal Defence work for over 20 years in the North East of England. Starting as a trainee solicitor in 2001, he worked through the firm to the director position.

He represents clients in the Magistrates, Crown Court and the Police Station and has extensive experience in trials, bail hearings and complex sentencing across various practice areas.

Paul has a reputation for his broad level of criminal advocacy experience. He is regularly instructed in the defence of serious cases such as homicide, terrorism, large-scale drugs and cigarette importation cases, fraud and sexual offences.

Paul has dealt with cases that have attracted national and international media attention.

Paul has also worked extensively in Road Traffic Law and regularly represents drivers to prevent the loss of their licence. Paul is experienced in dealing with clients from all backgrounds and with learning or mental health difficulties.

He is known for putting all clients at ease, explaining the circumstances of their case and consistently trying to go above and beyond to represent their interests.
